TROMPE-L'OEIL

This collection was completed for the CFDA's Geoffrey Beene competition, the goal of which is to create a collection based on Geoffrey Beene's previous collections and design sensibilities.

Human-concocted illusion was the source point for my designs, which translated into skewed prints and pleated geometry. Humor and irony are very much a part of Beene's work, which is an aspect I wanted my collection to reflect. This was achieved by pairing items like fish leather with neoprene, a marine fabric.

Illustrations were done in graphite and colored pencil.

My project was chosen to represent the University of Cincinnati in the CFDA competition in New York City.
